What data format does the Bentley Map Mobile Publisher application create?	The Bentley Map Mobile Publisher application creates files using Bentley's next generation i-model format described here.
What is the Bentley Map Mobile Converter application and can it be used to automate the production of Bentley Map Mobile i-models?	Installation of Bentley Map Mobile Publisher includes the Bentley Map Mobile Converter (MapMobileConverter.exe) which is a 64-bit standalone command line tool that does not require use of a Bentley Map session and provides extensive configuration capabilities to produce Bentley Map Mobile i-models from both Bentley Map and MicroStation design files. It can be used from command shell, batch file or ProjectWise i-model Composition Server to automate production of Bentley Map Mobile i-models and incremental file updates. Can I publish 3D design files for use in Bentley Map Mobile?	Yes, both Bentley Map Mobile Publisher and Bentley Map Mobile Converter can be used to publish/convert both 2D and 3D design files for use in Bentley Map Mobile.
Can I use Bentley CONNECT ProjectWise Share areas to distribute .imodels to other Bentley Map Mobile users? If yes, can those same users also upload redline data (markup, photos, videos) collected in Bentley Map Mobile to a Bentley CONNECT Project for use within my organization?	Yes, you can upload Bentley Map Mobile .imodel files to Bentley CONNECT ProjectWise Share areas. In Bentley Map Mobile, members of the Bentley CONNECT Project can then "Change Project" to the appropriate project, and "Browse > Project Share" to favorite (e.g. Star icon) and download the i-models to their device. If Bentley CONNECT Project members have been given write access, they can also use Bentley Map Mobile to upload .markupdb redline files to the ProjectWise Share area as well.
I attempted to install the Bentley Map Mobile Publisher on a machine running the Windows XP operating system but was informed by the installer that the XP operating system was not supported. Is this true?	Yes, the underlying i-model publishing technology requires Windows 7 or later and therefore installation of Bentley Map Mobile Publisher is not supported on the Windows XP operating system.
Where do I need to put my published map files on the Android device so I can see them in the Bentley Map Mobile file picker?	The published Bentley Map Mobile (.imodel) files must be located in the /Bentley/Documents/MapMobile folder on your Android device.
What process can I use to put my published Bentley Map Mobile (.imodel) files on my Apple iPad or iPhone so I can see them in the Bentley Map Mobile file picker?	The published Bentley Map Mobile (.imodel) files can be copied to your Apple iPad or iPhone using the following steps. Use Bentley Map Mobile Publisher with Bentley Map (or supported product) to publish your project design file data into a .imodel file. Using iTunes on your Windows machine, connect your iPad or iPhone using the provided cable. Note: Current versions of iTunes no longer provide app support required for the following steps. Please refer to this Apple support article for instructions on downloading the iTunes 12.6 version that includes the required app support. In the upper left section of iTunes, select the device icon as highlighted here: In the "Settings" section for your device, select "Apps" as highlighted here: In the “File Sharing” section select “Map Mobile” app and see the "Map Mobile Documents" list. At the bottom of the “Map Mobile Documents” area select the “Add File…” button as shown here: Use the “Add” dialog to browse to a folder and select one or more of your published Bentley Map Mobile .imodel files to copy to your iPad or iPhone device. Start the Bentley Map Mobile app and "Sign In" with your Bentley CONNECT credentials to see your data. Alternatively, you can use any of the popular file sharing services and apps such as Box, DropBox, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive and use the “Open With Bentley Map Mobile…” option shown in those apps.
The .imodel files I created using Bentley Map Mobile Publisher have been loaded on my device but are not visible in the Bentley Map Mobile file explorer. How can I make my files visible?	You must successfully "Sign In" to Bentley Map Mobile on the start-up screen shown below to see your data, otherwise only the sample data file will be visible. Bentley Map Mobile is free to download but requires a Bentley CONNECT login for use.
When publishing a Bentley Map Mobile i-model containing raster images the resolution of the imagery is not sufficient. What can be done to increase the image resolution?	Higher resolution raster can be generated during the Bentley Map Mobile Publisher process by setting the… MS_RASTER_DOWNSAMPLING_PREFSIZE_FORIMODEL=5(default value) …configuration variable to a number such as 10, 20 or higher (maximum 4095) and then republishing the data set. Please note that increasing this value can create significantly larger i-models which will have a direct impact on the first time you attempt to open the file in Bentley Map Mobile, due to the increased data that must be initially uncompressed.
When publishing a Bentley Map Mobile i-model, how can I set an expiry date after which the Bentley Map Mobile i-model can no longer be opened?	The expiry date can be defined for the Bentley Map Mobile Publisher process by setting either of the following configuration variables: MAPMOBILEPUBLISHER_EXPIRY_DATE=3/31/2015(defines explicit expiry date, default value "None") MAPMOBILEPUBLISHER_EXPIRES_IN=28(computes expiry date equal to today + 28 days) Note: When both configuration variables are defined the explicit date value defined with MAPMOBILEPUBLISHER_EXPIRY_DATE takes precedence. When neither configuration variable is defined the published Bentley Map Mobile .imodel will have no expiry date.
