In Bentley Map V8i:

  • Open Tools> Geospatial> Utilities> Toggle the Print Preparation
  • In Print Preparation toolbox, open the print templates list and select the print template
  • Click blue arrow to the right of the dropdown list to start the placement process.
  • Check the number of viewports associated with selected print templates.

In OpenCities Map:

  • From the Map Admin workflow, select the print model.
  • Create Print Model

To determine if a template contains multiple viewports, enable Show Template Preview in the Select Area Under Mouse Cursor dialog. A small window opens to show the layout of the sheet being constructed and the currently active viewport.

  1. Green— Viewports that have been placed
  2. Red— Viewport currently being placed
  3. Black— Viewports Still to be placed

 Enable the Adjust Mode option.

Toggling on Adjust Mode changes the placement to a continuous placement mode. The first datapoint places a shape that is representative of the borders, the second datapoint rotates the shape and a third datapoint moves the shape while maintaining its rotation.

The viewport placement is completed with CTRL+Datapoint.

The Legend Options dialog opens, allowing you to select which feature are displayed in the legend.

Click Place to place the legends in the print model and continue the process.

The new PrintPrepOutput is opened with the map model referenced and clipped.  The legend will be placed in a predetermined legend placeholder.
