Sometimes an installation and/or activation of product can be problematic and show unexpected behaviour even though the setup and activation processes completed without any warnings or errors. This can occur in environments with strict security policies and where users are not granted Administrator or Power User rights.
To solve this, ensure that the application exists in your actual SELECTServer Admin Site page
- Open the SELECTserver Administration site
- Choose LICENSE MANAGEMENT > View License File
The product names are in alphabetical order by default. Establish that the application is listed so you can use those products. If you are licensed for the "For MicroStation" edition, and the Features column in your License Management Tool shows "platform=standalone" then you will need to remove Bentley Map and reinstall it, selecting the "For MicroStation" edition when prompted.
If everything is correct on the licensing side now you need to activate the product as an administrator.
Using File Explorer, locate licensetool.exe from the installation folder. ...\Programs files(x86)\Bentley\
Right click and choose Run as administrator.
The License Management Tool is launched and you can proceed to activate your product as with administrator rights.
