You may find that your output Shapefile contains only points when it should show a polygon. Sometimes the layer-list does not show any 'features' or levels to choose from. These types of problems can occur when there are conflicts between software installations on the PC. One instance in particular can be caused by having two editions of Power Inroads installed, each delivers a different version of Bentley Map V8i. If this is your case, and you're using the earlier edition, close it, Activate Map in the later edition, and try the Export to Shapefile command again. If the Layer list displays properly, and the command runs without errors, then using the later version will be the solution. If you must use the earlier edition, try the Repair command from the Control panel on the earlier edition to see if that corrects the problem.
