- Bentley Map editions with version numbers

Since the inception of Bentley Map V8i in 2009,  there have been several version, update, Maintenance Release and Product ID changes. 

V8i generation:

• Bentley Map PowerView
• Bentley Map
  • For MicroStation
  • Standalone
• Bentley Map Enterprise

CONNECT Edition generation:

• Bentley Map PowerView CONNECT Edition
• Bentley Map CONNECT Edition
• Bentley Map Enterprise CONNECT Edition

Notes

• Beginning with the Bentley Map CONNECT Edition, all Bentley Map products will be standalone.  There will be no need to choose between a layered "For MicroStation" product, or "Standalone" product.  This will allow Bentley to provide updates more efficiently and in a timely manner.

• The following tables lists the Bentley Map V8i versions with their corresponding MicroStation versions they were released with.  Bentley Map CONNECT Editions are built with the PowerPlatform which includes MicroStation functionality. There is no corresponding MicroStation version for the CONNECT Editions. 

• The three current editions are the Map PowerView CONNECT Edition, Map CONNECT Edition, and the Map Enterprise CONNECT Edition.

• For the V8i generation product,  it is important to combine the Map V8i (SELECTseries) installation of the "For MicroStation" edition with its corresponding MicroStation version.  This allows you to take advantage of changes that were introduced into each product during the update cycle.  V8i (SELECTseries) generation products should be installed together.  However, within (SELECTseries) product release, newer versions of Map are compatible with older versions of MicroStation.  In some cases, older versions of Map are compatible with newer versions of MicroStation.  To maintain the integrity and supported functionality, the corresponding version of MicroStation should be installed at the same time.

• Each of these versions should be downloaded from the Software Downloads page on the Bentley Fulfillment Center.  Beginning with the V8i (SELECTseries) Update 5 release, the Standalone and For MicroStation editions are listed separately.  Please review your contract to see which edition you are licensed for.  Interim build numbers have also been issued, but are not shown in the Fulfillment Center.
