- What's New in OpenCities Map CONNECT Edition Update 7?

See what's new in the latest release of OpenCities Map:

New Features and Capabilities

  • Beginning with Map Update 7 the CONNECT Edition products have been renamed throughout the Bentley catalog and Domain.  Look for OpenCities Map Advanced CONNECT Edition and OpenCities Map Ultimate CONNECT Edition in Software Downloads and other locations and in the various references
  • Command line tool to incorporate DGN File data into spatial databases - DGN2DB.exe.  This tool has been expanded from its v8i-origins in the DGN2SDO program, to include both Oracle and PostGIS as spatial data storage models
  • The Geospatial Administrator now offers the option to use a Place by Key-in Command option in all Placement Methods.  This powerful option provides access to all Map, MicroStation, and 3rd-party software applications that can be initialized via a key-in

Technology Preview Features

  • Labelling enhancements continue to be offered as a Technology Preview item
  • CityGML enhancement also are carried-over from Update 6 as a Technology Preview item.  These tools offer a supplied-schema file, Placement and Editing tools for smart-3D editing of CityGML data
  • You can now Export CAD elements directly to a Geospatial Administrator Schema file with the Export Feature Definitions command. This tool is a very powerful way to create a GIS Schema directly from a DGN File, without the need to first open and Edit the schema in using the Geospatial Administrator.  DGN element symbology and styles are automatically entered into the Feature Symbology nodes in the Schema
  • Dynamic Feature Inference

Enhanced Interoperability of CAD and GIS Data
